True or False? You can only measure the success or failure of America's public schools by the students they produce? This ideal is one of many measures that educational theorists make as American Schools continues to slide down a slippery slope of hopelessness.
According to the Digest of Educational Statistics, 2008, the percentage of dropouts among 16- to 24-year-olds has shown some decreases over the past 20 years. This percentage, known as the status dropout rate, includes all people in the 16- to 24-year-old age group who are not enrolled in school and who have not completed a high school program, regardless of when they left school.
